We had to!

Presley really wanted to go swimming yesterday so I gave in. I was looking around and found out the Scera was open. So we loaded up and had a fun time. It was a little cold but we just pretended it really was summer!

Got Weeds......

Two days ago I spent the afternoon at my sisters house and we ended up pulling weeds in her flower beds. I wish I would have taken a before picture. The garbage can was totally empty when we started.

Aaron

Aaron is my little cutie. I have known him since he was about 9 I think. I love him and he knows how to take a pic.

My First Bridals!!!

So, here they are. I feel like I did a pretty good job. I was so nervous to get them developed! I tried some things that worked and some things that didn't. I need to have a lot more practice. The lighting was a little tricky. It had been raining all day and we got lucky (well it proved that Heavenly Father loves Julie) and it cleared up enough to take the pictures.
Here is one of the crew. I took Presley with me and she ended up being a good little assistant.

This one is my favorite!

I loved her shoes. But maybe thats because I picked them out.

Yada Yada Yada

I know I haven't posted any pictures and this is getting boring. But I do have pictures to develop and I am getting really nervous because..... I am taking bridals for my roommate/best friend! We are taking them on Thursday and our friend Aaron is going to be shooting with me. So I am a little intimidated but all should go well. Right? So I will get some pics developed and break up these boring posts!

Last Year....

Last 4th of July I had been training to run the annul Freedom Festival 5k run. On the day of the race my ex husband was supposed to have made arraignments to have someone watch Presley for us while we both ran (he was running the 10k). Well he failed to take care of it and I really wanted to run. So I asked Pres is she wanted to do it and she said yes so we set out when the shot was fired. I was worried because this was going to be a long run for a 5 year old. To my surprise we ran almost the whole way and I got a better time than I previously did! She was awesome. It is time to sign up again, but this year I think we are going to stick with the 1 mile fun run. So if you are in the Utah County area on the 4th come and run with us. It will be a blast!

Hooray!

I am getting Internet today!!!

Yuck!!!

So you ask how was my Mothers' Day. I will tell you... First of all I woke up to get ready for church and I can into my hall way and the carpet was wet in front off the bathroom. The first thought that ran through my head was maybe Julie (my roommate who will soon be getting married and moving out) :( got sick and cleaned it up. So I stepped into the bathroom and to my surprise the bathroom rug as sopping wet. Well I figured out that sometime during the night the house pipes had had enough and decided to quit draining. I got to work and started cleaning up. I went to the first hour of church and ran back home because I was afraid it would flood again. It was okay until without thinking I started some laundry and yep it flooded again. Anyway to make a long story short. I was using a bucket for a while and got everything up and running carpet cleaned yesterday. I am know back to normal and to my happy surprise not only did my brother in-law fixed the clog (it was tree roots and baby wipes thanks to the tenants up stairs) and cleaned my bathroom that I was seriously dreading. So yes Mothers' Day was fantastic. My Dad got me a 1hr massage and made some fabulous steak. That was the good part.

To Do List Update

Well, I got to all but #2 and 7 on my to do list. But I still have one more week to get my photo homework done. So I guess that will have to wait until next week. I feel like I did a pretty good job. There is always room for improvement and I hope I improve each week. I got all the important things done and that makes me feel good! Have a great weekend!

On a side note....Happy Mothers' Day. I love you Mom!

Woohoo!

So lately I have been getting a little frustrated with my camera. With the 50mm lens I could only get so close and I wasn't getting the up close shots I wanted. So I have been thinking. Do I have the money to splurge on a new lens and can I easily find a lens for my Canon AE-1 (circa 1970s)? Then I remembered when I got my camera fixed a while ago at Kew's Camera. I noticed they sold used camera equipment while I was there. So I gave them a jingle yesterday and to my surprise (visualize very large smile) they had a 80-205mm telephoto lens. So ran down there an snatched it up. For $50 how could a sister not afford it? I really wanted to take it for a spin yesterday but the heavens opened up and it started to pour and pour and pour. Now I am ready to move forward. The only down side I need to get used to the heavier weight. That means I need to hit the weights and pump up my weak little muscles.

I would like to give a shout out the Kew's Camera. I love these guys they are fast, reliable, and reasonable. Check them out if you need a little camera help.

Thanksgiving Point

I am going to bore you now with some of the pictures that I took at the Tulip Festival.

My best friend is getting married this summer and these are her wedding colors. Good choice. I get the privilege of making her bouquet. I am excited because I haven't done a bouquet in years.

I love the highlights on this one.

Yes the tulips were beautiful but I was expecting more. It was a little pricey to go and look at them too. I don't think I will go next year. I hear there is a good one in Midway though.

Photo 101wk1 Homework

Here are a few shots from my homework from last week. We learned about framing, lines, and capturing motion. I really learned a lot. It is a little harder for me because I am the only one using film. So I can just take a look at what I have done and immediately correct it. I think I did a pretty good job.

I should have cropped this one in just a little bit more.

I cut Presley's chin off in this one. Whoops.

I love that her tongue is hanging out. Boy does this girl like to run.

I really love this moment.
